Hebel-Slichter Peak in LaNiGa2
Phurba’s work investigating the NMR properties of LaNiGa2 in the superconducting state was published in Physical Review Letters. This material has attracted broad interest as a possible non-unitary triplet superconductor due to the presence of broken time reversal symmetry below Tc. Phurba and collaborators, however, discovered a robust increase in the NMR spin lattice relaxation rate just below Tc, which is inconsistent with a non-unitary condensate. This result raises doubt about the interpretation of non-unitary triplet superconductivity in this material.
